About Light 2 Life

A Wonder

Light 2 Life actually began with some questions 15 years ago. I marveled at the engaged exploration (and extraordinary learning) of babies and toddlers, and in some homes and classrooms, I saw similar engagement and growth in learners of all ages.

I wondered –

Can childlike discovery and promise be re-kindled and fostered in learners of every age?

How do we and our children learn and grow most?

Toddlers are driven to learn and grow

A Belief

The immensity of the sea

Since then, years of observing and studying have convinced me that we all come to life with an insatiable drive to learn, to do, and to become. We naturally hunger for life-sustaining and life-enriching light – not only in the form of sunlight, but also in the form of enlightenment, purpose, and fulfillment.   And . . . we want to share it.

This drive or ‘want’ inspires learning in all settings and also dramatically impacts every other aspect of our daily and future lives. However, at times we each lack energy and desire, and we may even question whether we can find them again.

I believe that we can awaken and foster enriched learning, relationships, and life in our children, ourselves, and others. Through soul-felt thought and action – engaged with one another – we can add light to our lives and communities.
Light 2 Life simply rises when 2 or more walk or work ‘2gether.’

A Hope

Through story, essay, image, and post, we hope to share light and some ways to find it, wherever we live, learn, work, and go.

We strive for authenticity in discussing real life, without ignoring hard times or difficult issues.

Most things here come from the lives, thoughts, and goodness of those who have inspired us. Some come from us. Some are backed by research and study, and others by things felt and lives lived. We draw from history and classic writings, while trying to keep current and relevant.

Love and relationships matter the most.
